Drug Awareness

The accurate version, because you're old enough for it

The deal

No scare stories. No pretending nobody your age has tried anything.

Straight facts, in exchange for a fair hearing.

Fact one

Most people your age are not using drugs.

It feels otherwise online. The national data is consistent. Not using is the majority, by a distance.

Possession vs supply

Class A: possession up to 7 years. Supply up to life.

And supply doesn't mean being a dealer. Passing a pill to a mate is supply. Holding for someone older is supply.

Why that gap matters to you

Older dealers know exactly how much bigger the supply sentence is.

That is why they push the holding and selling onto teenagers. It is not a cut of something good. It is their risk, moved onto you.

Nobody knows what's in it

"THC" vapes containing spice. Fake pills containing nitazenes, opioids strong enough that one pill can kill. Purity swinging batch to batch.

The seller usually doesn't know either. Being careful can't fix not knowing what you took.

Using, or being used?

Using drugs is a health issue. Being drawn into holding or selling is exploitation, carrying someone else's criminal risk.

Same playbook as county lines: paid, trusted, made to feel part of something, then trapped.

The life-saving bit

Someone unresponsive, struggling to breathe, fitting, or can't be woken?

999 now. Recovery position. Stay. Tell paramedics the truth.

Permission, in advance

What kills at your age is delay, and people delay because they're scared of trouble.

You will not be arrested for calling an ambulance for your friend. Ringing is always right. Always.

Where to get help

Childline 0800 1111, up to 19, including worries about someone at home.

Asked to hold or sell? Tell a trusted adult early. That's the way out, not the way into trouble.
